2019 Transparency Notice to Electors

Beginning in 2014, Colorado Special Districts, have been required to publish a Notice to Electors (also called a Transparency Notice) in accordance with §32-1-104(2) & §32-1-809 of the Colorado Revised Statutes (C.R.S.) on or no more than 60 days before January 15th of each calendar year.  The Transparency Notice must include:

  • The principle business address and telephone number of the District;
  • Name and business telephone number of the manager or primary contact person;
  • The names of the members of the board and indicating the directors who will be on the ballot at the next regular election;
  • The times and places designated for regularly scheduled meetings of the board during the year and the place where notice of board
    meetings is posted pursuant to 24-6-402(2)(c), C.R.S.;
  • The current mill levy and the total ad valorem tax revenue received by the district during the last year;
  • The date of the next regular special district election at which members of the board will be elected;
  • Information on the procedure and time for an eligible elector of the special district to submit a self-nomination form for election to the
    board pursuant to section 1-13.5-303; and
  • The address of any web site on which the special district's election results will be posted.

In addition to being posted on the District's website, the Notice is also posted on the Special District Association of Colorado website.  Copies of the Notice were also sent to the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners, Assessor, Clerk & Recorder, and Treasurer.
